Hi, I'm Rob D.
I'm a local government enthusiast with roots in planning, research, recreation, and entrepreneurship.
Before transitioning to a career in municipal government, I spent time as a military intelligence soldier, salesman, marketing consultant, and small business owner. I graduated from Humboldt State University with a B.S. in Environmental Management & Protection (Natural Resources Planning) and an M.S. in Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences.
My local government career has included roles in Parks & Recreation, Development Services, and Public Works. I find that I work best in interdepartmental spaces connecting projects with resources spread all throughout the City. Currently, I am the City of Eureka's acting Planning & Building Manager. I manage the day-to-day operations of the Planning Department, Building Department, and the City's cannabis licensing program. I work to bridge the gap between the different departments and divisions involved in development. I also work with businesses, contractors, building design professionals, and homeowners to successfully navigate permitting and compliance processes.
